Q.

Baby Kidney Problems Bladder reflux

Hi my name is Melonie, I have a daughter of now almost 20 months. She was born with a heart problem which is now fine. But my concern is she was born with a Kidney problem as well and was in ICU for a week when she was a week old. She has been on Antibiotics since birth and has not stopped. She is growing very slowly and she does not crawl or walk. I need to know more about this and which doctor she can see to see if they can help her. We love in South Africa, Johannesburg, Gauteng, Wilgeheuwel, Randburg area. Please reply A.S.A.P Thank you.

Paediatrician

Your child must be seen by a paediatrican with an interest and experience in renal disease in children. Please try and see Prof Peter Thomson. He works in the Dept of Paediatrics at the Joburg General Hospital and I believe has recently started working at the Morningside Clinic.
