Baby girl''s weight

Hi doc,

My baby girl is now 5 and a half months old. I weighed her yesterday and she weighs 9kgs. Is this a healthy weight at her age? She is on formula during the day, breast milk when I get home from 16h30 in the afternoon and throughout the night. She has baby cereal at around 11am and has baby vegetables or fruit around 5pm.

Doc, could you please post a list of average weight for girls by age until age 12 months, if possible?

The average weight for a baby girl of 5 and a half months is 7.25kg. Your baby's weight of 9kg is far above the average, in fact her weight is in the top 2% for all babies of this age.I am concerned about her weight. She appears to be overfeeding.Speak to your clinic nurse for advice or go to your nearest breast feeding clinic. You will find the normal weight charts at this website:
