Baby girl''s vagina

Hi there

When my little girl has a poo I try to wash her genital area in the basin if I am home. That way I can wash her properly so that no traced of faeces are left over. After I have washed her, when I place a new nappy on her I notice that if i part her vagina lips carefully there is still some poo residue inside there. I then use an alcohol free wet wipe to clean it all question is SHOULD i be cleaning her there...I know i should but to what extent?? Should i be opening her vagina lips every time to wipe away some poo residue or should i not be fiddling with her vagina so much?? I just dont want her to get an infection but am scared " over wiping/cleanliness may also cause an infection??

You are looking after your baby girl well.Make sure that her nappies are not too small for her and/or too tight on her. Always wipe her from front to back. Use clean water or the alcohol free wipes as you are doing.
