Q.

baby gas?

HI Paed my 5 yr old girl has always been rather gassy. Her tummy moves every two days or so and its quite a normal-looking poo, neither hard nor too soft. Very strong smelling though. Her diet is quite healthy and has enough fibre, I think. But are there any amendments I can make to her diet to ease her gassiness or any gentle med i can give her frm time to time? She is especially gassy at night.

thanks

This problem of excess gas could just be due to a high carbohydrate diet, but may be due to some form of food intolerance such as a wheat or gluten intolerance. It would be best to have her seen by her paediatrician.
