Good Day Doc
I would like to find out some info
I have a baby girl that is one of a twin. She is now 5weeks old but when she was 3weeks she started with a phlemy chest and a blocked nose
I took her to my gp and he said that there was nothing wrong with her chest but that she had an ear infection in both ears and put her on antiobotics
I dont know if the ear infection has cleared but the chest is still the same. If she brings up a wind with milk it is a bit slimy with phlem
Please could you advise me on what i can give to her to help the chest i am scared of phnonia. Whatever i can give i will get
I have saline drops for the nose and her snot is a dark green in colour PLEASE HELP

Paediatrician

The question that needs to be asked here is why a baby of 5 weeks is so chesty in the summer months. In winter when coughs and colds are common it would be easier to understand. In fact she started getting ill at 3 weeks. It could be that she has a problem with reflux and is breathing in tiny amounts of milk into her lungs which can cause the symptoms you describe here. Your baby needs to be examined and treated by a paediatrician so that a proper diagnosis can be made as to the cause of her chest problem and the correct treatment can be given.
