Good morning - on the 12th of february my son will be 1 year and 3 months old. his hair is quite long. My mother-in-law, says i cant cut his hair, as it would affect his speech? meaning he will take longer to talk. Can i cut his hair, and what is the recommend age for a baby boy''s first hair cut?

You can certainly ciut your little son's hair. This will not affect his speech.Babies often have their hair cut after their first birthday.

Old wives tale. There''s no link between hair growth and speech developement. Relax, give the boy a haircut!

Why are we cursed with mothers in law?

How could cutting your child''s hair possibly affect his speech in any way?
Does cutting your hair make you talk funny for a while afterwards or not speak for a few days?

A baby''s hair can be cut whenever you feel its getting too long. There is no recommended age. Probably by the day before he starts grade 1 is a good idea though as schools still have silly rules abou the length of boys hair.
