Q.

Average weight - 6 months

My baby was born at 37 weeks weighing 2.64kg. She is now 6months and weighs 6.5kg, is this weight fine? She is bottle fed (NAN HA) and is on 3 solids a day (maize cereal and veggies)

The average weight for a baby girl of 6 months is 7.25 kg.Her corrected weight allowing for her prematurity is on the 25th percentile line of the infant growth chart which places her in the lowest 25% group for baby girl's of her age. This is quite acceptable given her prematurity and birth weight. She seems to be healthy and is eating well so with time she will catch up more as far as her weight is concerned.
