Q.

AV malformation

Hi there,

A friend of mine recently found out that his 2 year old child was diagnosed with AV malformation.

They have been given two options in respect of surgery, but have yet to find an appropriate surgeon/doctor to advise them as to which route to take and in addition have been unable to find a doctor/surgeon to perform the necessary surgery.

Please can you refer me to a suitable doctor/surgeon that may be able to help....

Please help urgently!

Many thanks,
Nikki

Paediatrician

You do not say where this AV malformation is because that would influence the choice of specialist that would treat this problem. It would be best to see a paediatric surgeon first. There are experts in all the main centres in SA.
