Asthma meds

Dr my son , aged 7yr, has had an URI few weeks ago....He is on chronic Zyrtec, Flixotide 125 mcg and Nasonex....We have been giving him 1 puff of Flixotide twice daily for the last few months because his asthma was better. But he has this ''snotty'' constant cough now. I can''t decide if this cough is from post nasal drip or asthma. He also started coughing again when he gets upset or laughing to much. What I want to ask you: Me and my husband can''t remember if he was on 2 puffs twice daily in the past, when his asthma symptoms was better and I have been in and out to the pead the last few weeks, so I don''t want to bother him again to ask: Will it be save to give him 2 puffs of Flixotide 125 TWICE daily, until the coughing gets better?

Your son has had a cold recently and probably a virus chest infection with the cold and he still has a loose cough. Some of his symptoms are due to asthma especially when he coughs with laughter and when he gets upsest. He should definitely be using his Flixotide. Use 2 puffs of Flixotide twice daily. He should also be using his Nasonex nasal spray once daily and the Zyrtec syrup at night.
