Antiobiotics

Hi Doc, My daughter is 3 years old and started a course of Augmentin BD S 5ml twice daily today for severe tonsillitis. Can she still swim and attend creche this week?

Your daughter will be able to attend school as the bactreia causing her tonsillitis will be rapidly cleared by the antibiotic. It would be best if she did not swim this week.

Will she be feeling up to swimming if she''s sick.

Most creche''s require that your child has been on antibiotics for 48 hours before you return them to creche, as they ar eonlky then starting to feel well enough, and they are usually no longer contagious by then.
