Another Tramacet question

Hi Doc,

My Gynae prescribed Tramacet to me when I was 4 months pregnant. He said it did not enter the blood stream. I am now worried as you cannot use it whilst breastfeeding, so I might have harmed my unborn child. He was born at 38 weeks, weighing 3.1kg. I took 6 Tramacet tablets during the whole pregnancy, for back ache. The placenta started to fail and I had to have an emergency caesar. Could Tramacet have caused this?

Tramacet is not advised during pregnancy according to the manufacturers as its safety has not been established. As there is not enough information available,I am unable to comment with any degree of certainty about the possible role of Tramacet in causing the problems you experienced.
