Q.

An abscess i.e. painful swelling filled with pus of vaccination

My baby boy (5 months) developed an abscess on his arm 5 months after he was vaccinated in hospital few days after he was born must I take him to a doctor is it something to worry about but it is not painfull.

You are correct, This is an abscess on your baby's arm. It is known as a BCG abscess and occurs at the site where your baby had his BCG immunisation done soon after birth.This is not a painful abscess. No treatment is usually needed for this kind of abscess. It will be slowly absorbed by itself and will eventually disappear completely. This takes several months to happen.

My child had this too. The abscess burst a few times and it was smaller each time it reformed.

I took him to the clinic and the nurse said just to leave it open, and if her clothes were irritating it I could put a light gauze dressing on it.

My son didn''t get this with his, he just had a pimple come up.

apparently both are normal and not bad reactions.
