Q.

Always thirsty

Good day Docter.

I have an almost 5 year old that is always thirsty. She drinks all day long, and even though she is very active, she drinks more than normal kids her age. Even her teachers have commented on it. somebody suggested that I have her tested for diabetes. Should I , and should I be worried?

Your daughter may just be a child who needs a lot of fluid because she is very active. Besides drinking a lot children with diabetes pass a lot of urine. It would be best to have your daughter tested for diabetes and if negative will enable you to stop worrying.
