Q.

almost 27 months old

my son is not talking really, he uses mom,dad,and bye. i am worried about his speach development. He show us if he needs anything. He is also very active and has reached all his other milestones.Should i start to worry. My family thinks that he might just be a late talker. I have tested his hearing at 18 months. He just cant mimic a word.He doesn' t even tries. \please help!

Your son is probably a late talker.There have been many famous examples of this in history such as Churchill who only started talking at 4 years.What does concern me is the fact that he does'nt show any interest in mimicking words. You could leave him for another 3 months or so and if there is still no progress it would be best to consult a speech therapist.
