Q.

almost 2 and hardly saying words

My little boy is going and 2 and he is hardly saying any words, he only stated crawling at 11 months and started walking at 15 months. he can say a few words but my concern is that he saying baby words and he babbles alot.

This is very common especially with little boys of this age.Try to teach him to say more words by pointing at things around him and giving them their name eg chair, table. Also try to teach him to ask for things he wants rather than him just pointing at them and then you give it to him. If he is not talking by 3 years of age then he should be seen by a speech therapist.

by what age should i really start worrying and start taking him to a specialist?

His crawling and walking are both within the normal range so don''t be concerned that he''s developing late overall.

If you are worried about his speech, perhaps see an audiologist and have his hearing tested.
Also, if he gets a lot of ear infections, grommets will help as what he hears will sound clearer without all the fluid in the way.

Some children do start talking later than others though.
