My 7 month old breastfed granddaughter tested negative for milk &  soya allergies. However, whenever she drinks formula or eats purity which contains milk or soya, her eczema seems to worsen, & /or she gets a runny tummy. She has dry patches on her thighs, above elbows &  her cheeks. Her cheeks become inflamed on a regular basis &  more so when she somehow ingests milk protein, or if her mother for instance drinks milkshake. How effective is the allergy blood test?

The blood tests for food allergies are very accurate normally but may occasionally not detect allergy to a food when it is present. The history is a good way of diagnosing a food allergy and here you have given a very clear story of cause and effect. It does appear that your little granddaughter is allergic to milk and soya.It would be best for her to be seen and treated by a paediatrician with an interest in paediatric allergy.
