I started my baby boy on solids around 5 months old (Rice cereal), shortly after that he got a terrible post nasal drip which caused him to get an upper respiratory tract infection. While he was sick i stopped feeding him solids and only gave him breastmilk. When he was better i resumed with his solid diet, but not 3 weeks later he is sick again. Could him getting sick have something to do with his solid diet? He has never been sick before.

This is not due to an allergy but is due to virus infections. Your baby's first illness was a cold and the second one also probably a cold. Is he at a creche? It may help to boost his immunity through winter by giving him a probiotic such as Reuteri Infant drops 5 drops daily for 10 days per month for the winter months.

Hi Doc, no he does not go to creche, he is at home with me at the moment. When he was sick the first time he had a lot of wheezing, coughing and nasal congestion. Also his nose began to run and his eyes were tearing. Now that he is sick again he isnt half as bad, had a bit of a runny nose and also the tearing eyes. He didnt have fever with either of the sick spells. I will give the reuteri a try, thanks for the advice!
