Q.

Allergy?

Hi Dr,

I have a 5 week old infant that seems to be rubbing her tongue on her palate quite a bit, which only started today. She is also making a " clicking"  sound in the back of her throat occasionally. Could she have an allergy?

Is this something i should have checked out?

(She is on both formula (lactogen) and breast milk)

Thank you,
Taryn

Your baby is very young to be starting with nasal allergy, but her symptoms may certainly be due to an allergy. She may be allergic to cow's milk.Try her on NAN HA and see if her symptoms disappear.Another possibility if you have a cat in your home she may be allergic to the cat.If her symptoms persist it would be best to ask your paediatrician to see her and test her for allergies.
