My daughter coughs sometimes and it sounds like there' s phlegm in her chest, Her nose has been running for days and sometimes she pants but not heavily. I' ve been told she has allergies and that she may outgow it. she' s been put on antibiotics, cough syrup, anti histamines, ventolin. it goes away for about 2 weeks and it comes back. Its been off and on for a while now and she' s 16 months. Please help. I dont know what else to do.

Your daughter's symptoms don't sound like an allergic problem to me. The problem seems to be that of recurrent upper and lower respiratory infections.Does she attend a creche? Her symptoms and frequencey of being sick suggest the pattern of the so-called 'creche syndrome' where children infect one another with repeated coughs and colds during the winter months.try her on an immune booster such as Creche Guard or Viral Choice Junior. Also give her a probiotic for at least 10 days such as Reuteri or Probiflora-speak to your pharmacist.
