Q.

Allergic to measel injection

Dear Doc,

my son is 3 and a half years old. with his first shot for measels we found out that he was allerigc to eggs.so the clinic adviced us not to give him injection.he never had a measel injection.now i am concerned what will happen if he catches measels.he is still very allergic to eggs, especially to the egg white.i have read an article about mmr that is not matured in egg and so it will not affect somebody allergic to eggs.doctor please give me advice what to do.

Even if your son is allergic to eggs he can have the MMR. The vaccination injection should be done in a doctor's rooms and he must remain in the rooms for half an hour after the injection.
