Q.

Advise would be appreciated

Hi Dr. My LO is 17 months old and on Singulair Sprinkles (since May 2008), 10 drops Zyrtec daily, creche guard and floradix (since march 2008). Her allergy tests all came back negative.
She started with a terrible cough at night and a clear runny nose the last 3 nights. I have been using Salex twice a day but does not seem to be clearing and today she had a raised temperature of 38.5c. I controlled her temp with Panado syrup.
Could this be a PND or something more serious?
Should i take her to the GP or am i doing everything right?

Your toddler has a viral infection much like a cold which also seems to be affecting her chest. She is not an allergic child. you are treating your little girl correctly. My only concern is her high fever which may indicate that she has an ear infection. For this reason it would be best if your doctor had a good look at her.
