ADD and Rispidal

Hi there,

My son is 6 years old and he used Rispidal (0.5mg every evening) and Epilim (5ml x 2 p/day) he is also on Statera 18mg - the stratera is new he has been on it for a month now and all is going well. How do i ween him off the Rispidal and Epilim. We tried Ritalin and Concerta but he got very very depressed so the dr put him on the Rispidal and Epilim and he did fine for about 6 months- i wanted him to be on one type of medication only and that is why we started Statera - but the dr said that after one month we can start reducing the other two medications if all is well on the Statera only. But what is the best way to do this.

Rispidal should not just suddenly be stopped, nor the Epilim. This has to be done under the supervision of the doctor who prescibed these medicines. Please contact your son's doctor and ask him for clear guidance as to how you should stop these medicines.
