9 mnth old refusing bottle

Hello doc

My son is 9 months old, he is eating 3 meals a day but refuses to drink his bottle. He will only drink about 80mls during the day. At night he sleeps right through but I''m concerned he is not getting enough. He sucks his dummy vigorously but will turn away when he sees the bottle. He weighs 6.5kgs.

I am also concerned about your baby's weight. At 9 months the average weight for a baby boy is almost 9kg. Your baby's weight is far below this weight. If his weight of 6.5kg is correct, his weight falls below the lowest line on the infant weight chart.Even at his present weight he should be drinking at least 900ml of formula per day. Please take your son to see the clinic sister at your nearest baby clinic or to a paediatrician.
