8 months - dental

Dear Paed,
My son got his two bottom teeth at 5.5 months and his top two have broken through but is taking forever to descent. My question is about my Lo' s gums, where his two bottom teeth have come through, the gum looks really inflamed and red around the actual teeth and I see the top two are doing the same, now my little one is still on NAN LF and has been since 4 months, because there is no follow up milk for this particular formula I was wondering if he is getting all the nutrition he needs from this formula. Do you think he might be lacking something and now his gums are being affected? His diet at the moment is Purity Rice cereal (breakfast), Purity Fruit (lunch) and Vegetables for supper.

It is rather unusual for the gums to remain inflamed once the teeth are through. In any case your baby's teeth appeared 2 months ago. It may just be that the other teeth are coming through now, but I would be happier if you asked the sister at your nearest clinic to see your baby just to be sure that there is no need for concern.
