Q.

7 Year Old Boy

Hi,

Our 7 year old boy tends not to automatically close his mouth/lips in scenarios where it is obvious.

E.g. When swallowing medicine from a spoon
E.g. When jumping into the swimming pool
E.g. When chewing on his food

Can this point to an underlying problem?

Thanks
Elfrieda

The usual cause for this is a blocked nose due to enlarged adenoids. So it would be worthwhile having him checked by an ENT specialist for this possible problem.
