Q.

7 month old not sleeping

Hi,

I' m in desperate need of some advised. My 7 month old baby girl does not sleep through the night since birth and lately she' s been waking more often than normal - approximately every two hours. I' ve got her in a routine: i feed her at 6pm, then a bath at 7pm followed by a bottle and then put her to bed. She' s very active during the day and has a good appetite, she just seems very restless at night. Please advise me as this sleep deprivation i' m going through is taking toll on me. Thank you

You say that your baby has never slept through the night, so this is not due to hunger, teething or any recent problem. I suspect that she has acid reflux and this worries her when she lies down. Try giving her Gaviscon Liquid 2.5ml after feeds and especially after the evening feed [not more than 4 times a day] Let me know how she responds to the Gaviscon.
