Q.

7 month old arching back

Docter

My 7 month old baby boy seems to be arching his back alot.
This usually happens when I rock him to sleep at night. It also happens during the night.
He would wake-up screeming during the night, arching his back not want to take a dummy or a bottle ?

I am curious as to what could be causing this. I have read on the internet it might be a sign of reflux, but he is not spitting/vomiting at all.
Also, I read it might be the baby correcting his allignment, suggesting I take the baby to a chiro ?

Thank you

The most common cause of a baby arching his back like this is indeed due to acid reflux. You can try him on an acid reducer such as Losec or Altosec. You should see an improvement in a few days. Speak to your pharmacist.
