Q.

6 YR OLD PICKY EATER

Hi DOC

My daughter is 6 yrs of age and is extremely thin - she is a picky eater and can go an entire day without eating - she also suffers from tummy cramps very often.Pls advise on a vitamin that would suite her best - can she have a probiotic with a multivitamin as well - she is also very pale - can she have an iron supplement - Or does she need a blood test to confirm this

Your daughter will benefit from taking a probiotic such as Probiflora daily. In addition she will benefit from using a good multivitamin for children [speak to your pharmacist]. She should have a blood test to see if she is anaemic before considering giving her an iron supplement.
