6 year old wetting again

Hi doc
My son always had a bedwetting problem so I took him to the Paed at the beginning of the year so we can rule out any deformities etc. She found nothing and suggested we do a star chart before we go into the more detailed tests. The star chart worked well, he would have an oopsie now and again but not as often as before so we were very pleased, but now in the last month or so he has been having accidents in his pants during the day and in the bed at night almost every day. there are evenings where he is dry but that is because hubby tends to take him to the loo during the night. He is 6 years old surely this should have stopped or he should be able to control. I just cant understand why he is still wetting. should i take him back to my paed and do the tests? your help is very much appreciated.

Bed wetting is also known as 'enuresis'. It is one of the most common problems in children of your son's age. It is a cause of a great deal of embarrassment to your son. He certainly does not want to wet his bed but he cannot control his passing of urine due to an immaturity of the valve leading out of his bladder. There are many successful treatments for enuresis including special alarms which work well to several types of medicines. Please take your son back to the paediatrician. It is certainly time that he was started on treatment.

From what I know bed wetting is usualy because of emosional changes/uncertanty.

My boy 7 years old wets his bed when he stays over grandparents house (inlaws) not my parents house and not at home.
He also had a bigger problem before .
But the inlaws are angry every time gives him a hiding or so. He is so stressed it will happen that it does.
