Q.

6 year old Teen???

I am completely mortified!

My 6 year old sister has pubic hair! Is this normal?

She' s developed faster than most kids her age. She looks about 10 (height and weight), has active sweat glands which has required deoderant since 5, but sounds like a 6 year (mentally).

Please help? Is there anything we can do to " slow down"  this development? She is being treated for ADHD with Ritalin 20mg. She' s been on medication since June 2008.

Paediatrician

Your 6 year old sister has already started with the early signs of puberty. She is obviously too young for this to happen now. This is called precocious puberty. She needs to be examined by a paediatrician and certain hormone and other tests need to be done to ensure that there are no concerns about such an early onset of puberty.
