Q.

6 year old son having unusual crying out fits

my 6 year old son had a crying out fit today, not registering as normal and he said afterwards he said his tongue was swollen and severe head ache for a few hours afterwards. What could be the cause and what would you advise me to do.

It is possible that your son has had a typical migraine headache. Migraines can start in exactly this way.Another possibility is a form of epilepsy, but migraine is the more likely cause. Your son should be seen by a paediatric neurologist as soon as you can arrange an appoinrtment.
