6 year old

My daughter of 6 has been suffering with the following symptoms for the past three days: fever, stomach ache, headache, watery eyes, nausea(no vomiting), dry mouth, thirst and earache. We''ve been giving her Lotem for the fever, which helps....but the fever returns every time once medicine has worn off. What could be wrong? She''s been to the ENT but he oculd not pinpoint the problem...he excluded earinfection and tonsilitis and sent her for X-rays of the sinuses....we are still waiting to hear back from him.....

Your daughter symptoms suggest that she has flu. The only symptom that does not fit the picture is her earache but the ENT specialist has told you that she does not have an ear infection.Just give her Panado rather than the Lotem which contains paracetamol plus ibuprofen. I do not advise the ibuprofen if she has stomach ache. She needs plenty of water and other fluids to drink and probably would prefer soup and jelly and ice cream to other foods now.
