Hi Doc,

My son has his last meal around 7pm thereafter a bottle &  sleeps by 8pm. He used to sleep the whole night untill 5am but lately he wakes at 1am or 2am for a feed then sleep again till 5am. We also battle with him to break his winds, once he is sleeping, he will not break his wind. I am using Telament Drops in his water &  milk(Norvala) as perscribed by the ped and also give him Annique Rooibos Tea,

What can I do differently?

Once a baby can sit on his own, it is not necessary to try to get him to break winds. Also if you have tried to get him to break a wind for 5 minutes and have not been successful then that is enough. Do not carry on trying to burp him.Your baby is at the age when he is likely to be teething and this may well be the reason why he is waking up at 1am.This should settle down once his teeth have appeared.
