Morning Doc

My 6.5 month old daughter has stopped sleeping through the night. This has been going on for at least a month now. She was sick, and the paediatrician gave her meds, but she still does not sleep. She was on Isomil 1 then I put her on Isomil 2 and then she stopped sleeping. She is a reflux baby and she is on Altosec daily. She weighs 8.5kg. We tested her for lactose intolerance when she was 4 months old and it was negative. When she was born we put her on Nan, then Nan AR and then Nan HA, but she couldnt tolerate it properly, but thinking back, she might have just had colic. She is now back on Nan HA, since Sunday and she is fine, not miserable like the first time she was on it. She was battling with her stools when she was on Isomil 2, they were hard, but now with the new milk it seems fine again. She also eats table food, which she enjoys. Any idea as to why she does not sleep anymore?

Something must be worrying your baby to cause her to suddenly stop sleeping at night. This is the age when she will be teething so that is a strong possibility. The fact that she has reflux may be another possibility as she still may be having reflux which is causing her discomfort. The Altosec should lower her stomach acid but does not stop the actual reflux. If she is teething you should use a teething gel and if you still see that she is refluxing she should have an additional medicine such as Motilium to stop her actual reflux. She should be more satisfied on her present feed and she should be on regular solids as well now.
