Q.

6 maande ondersoek

Hoe belangrik is hierdie afspraak? Volgens my lyk hy heel op standaard. Waarna word gekyk by hierdie afspraak?

Hi Carla

I am also in the same position as yours as my daughter is also 6 months old. I don''t believe that it''s that important for your child to go for his 6-month check-up at the paeditrician unless something is seriously wrong with him.

These checkups are quite disappoiting as the doctor normally checks for what the clinic sister checks for, so it''s a waste of money unless there is something wrong. I''ll be taking mine to the clinic at 9 months for immunisation shots and the clinic sister will do all the necessary checks. Maybe I''ll take my daughter to paed when she turns 1 for a check up but I don''t believe that quarterly check-ups are necessary.

It''ll be interesting what the Health24 paed has to say though.

Regards,
