Q.

5-month-old trapped winds.

my 5month old daughter is on Nan Optipro 1 since birth. For the past 2months she struggled with trapped winds esp during the night where she is unable to drink her bottle due to the winds. Telament drops and gripewater is not helping. also she is so restless during the night that both of us don't get any sleep (as she is fighting/fussy during sleep). When she do wake up mornings then she refuses the bottle too but then I give her 10ml lukewarm water. It only happens during the night. When she drinks then I could actually hear her tummy growling and making noise. Do I change her formula?

Your baby is now a bit 'old' to still be struggling with winds. So there must be a reason for her windiness and discomfort. It is strange that the problem occurs only at night. The most likely cause is that your baby has a lactose intolerance problem and is unable to digest the natural milk sugar called lactose in her formula. Try her on a low lactose comfort formula and see how she does. It would probably be best to try her on Similac Total Comfort formula.
