5month old not sleeping

My baby is 5 months old. He is a big baby. He gets cereal in morning, veggies at lunch and cooked food (blended) at night. He has 1 tooth. Since the tooth appeared, he does not sleep at all at night. He wakes every 15 minutes. We have tried everything. He started on SMA1(formula) and the pediatric changed it to S26PROMIL. That does not help either. The prescribed something starting with a " V" (sleep syrup). Went to the docter again today and now he prescribed Aterax 2.5ml. Must i give my baby the aterax or is it dangerous.

I do not recommend giving your baby any sedatives especially not the Vallergan and the Aterax. There must be a reasion why he has suddenly stopped sleeping well. He may be teething or he may be hungry or he may have a reflux problem.Apply a teething gel to his gums at night and change his formula to Lactogen 2 as a start. If he does not improve go back to your paediatrician. You need to find the reason why your baby's sleeping pattern has changed and sedatives are not the answer at all.
