5 yr old

Halo Doc, i moved to Welkom from Bloem in 2009 and left my son with my parents. In 2011 he moved in with me and we''ve been together ever since, he''s now 5yrs old this year. The problem is he now does not want to visit my parents anymore, everytime he''s there and i call him, at the end of the call he''ll be crying and my mom will say i should stop calling him because if he does not hear my voice, he is ok. I don''t understand why he''s so insecure, he knows i love him very much and my parents miss him a lot, what could i be doing wrong?

You have made the diagnosis yourself. Your son loves his grandparents but you are his Mother and he is natuarally more attached to you. He is scared that you will leave him for 2 years again. So he feels very insecure when you take him to visit your parents. It is going to take a lot of reassurance before he will get over this.
