5 year old tending to forget

Hi doctor

My 5 yr old who is going to grade 1 has a tendency to forget things (objects) and cannot recall where she''s put them. She''ll play with something and leave it, after 20 min or so she doesnt know where it is. she''s brilliiant at school and i was advised by her teacher that she''s ready for big school. she can tell you my cellnumber and her daddy''s one off her head but i''m concerned about the other issue of not recalling where she leaves stuff. is this normal or should i take it further?

Your daughter seems to be a very clever little girl. I do agree that it is rather unusual that she is a bit forgetful and misplaces things. How about making a game where you both together leave an object such as her hairbrush somewhere in a room in your house and then leave the room. After 20 minutes ask her to bring the brush to you. Give her a gold star if she gets it right 5 times out of 5 with remembering where she put the brush every day. Do this with a new object each day. Also give her an Omega 3 supplement every day-the contents of one Omega 3 1000mg capsule.
