5 month old still stops breathing

Morning Doc!

I have a 5 month old baby girl. Born via c-section at 38 weeks and 5 days. APGAR 10.

On night 5she suddenly stopped breathing. This happened 3 ti.es that night. Took her to paed that morning. Wad told she would outgrow it and to give her 1ml Nuelin every 12 hours. She still had episodes 2/3 times per night. Went back to paed when daughter was 2 months old. Paed had some x-rays taken. Was told to give half a Nexium every morning as paed suspects silent reflux. Was also told to change breathing monitor''s settings so that the alarm sounds on 35 seconds(used to be. 20 seconds).

Tried everything... My little angel still stops breathing once or twice a week. Still reacts the same. She has quite a fright when I jiggle her to get her to breath and then gulps in air.

What do I do now? Please help!

Paediatrician

It is likely that your baby has a sleep apnoea problem. This may be due to nasal obstruction. Please get a second opinion ASAP. It would be best to consult a paediatric pulmonologist. There are experts in all the main centres in SA.
