5 Month old coughing

My son is 5 months and has had a cough for almost a month now. We took him to the Paed who said everything was mild - no infection and put him on the nebulizer twice a day. That was two weeks ago and we got another corse of nebuliser goodies (antrivent) and he still has the cough - he doesn''''t have a temp, is just as bubble as always, isn''''t niggly or crying and is sleeping fine - except he sometimes coughs himself awake, but goes back to sleep right away. What worries me is that he sometimes brings his bottle up when he coughs like that - usually in the morning, and when i put the saline drops in this morning he threw up a whole bunch of phelgm - is it normal that he is sick / coughing for so long. Should i take him to the paed again? You can hear his chest when he breathes.

Your baby son had a chest infection about a month ago and has still not fully recovered. In particlar he still has lots of mucous on his chest. He sleeps well and feeds well which is the good news so he is not really distressed. You should keep his nose clear by using Salex nose drops twice daily in his nose and give him Mucospect syrup to clear his chest of mucous. Also give him a probiotic such as Reuteri drops 5 drops daily for 10 days to boost his immunity.
