Berfore tha age of 6 years thumb sucking does not damage the permanent teeth. This is a very hard habit to break especially when your child now only sucks her thumb when she sleeps. There is much to be said for allowing nature to take its course and your daughter will eventually stop this habit by herself.Do not wake her and especially do not make this a source of friction in the home.If you are concerned about the effect thumb sucking will have on her teeth discuss this with your dentist.
