Q.

4yr old crying constantly and hitting herself

My once happy child has for months now cried for everything, cries when she needs to do something like eat dinner, and cries when I tell her she can''t have or do something. I have spoiled her a bit her dad and I broke up two and a half years ago, and I think I have been over compensating. I am in a relationship and have lived with my new partner for just over a year now, she barely speaks to him and has been so rude and bratty to him lately. Tonight after I put her to bed and read her a story she started crying said she was going to be lonely. I told her its bedtime and gave her a kiss and walked out. I then heard her hitting herself and saying uh uh! Help is this a phase?

Your child is hitting herself and seems to be very unhappy. Looking at your story it is obvious that she must be missing her father and is unhappy about someone else taking his place and also taking away some of your attention from her.It would be best to ask a child psychologist to see her as she really needs help in dealing with her situation.
