Q.

4mts& 8.5kg

I took my baby to a day mother and within the 6 weeks period that he spent with her his weight shot up by a full 1.5 kg. She swears that she is doing everything exactly the same way I was doing it. My mother suggested cutting down the milk and introducing home cooked veggies? I''ve also substituted S-26 for NAN in my try to cut the calories. What elses can I do to curbe his growth?

The average weight for a baby boy of 4 months is 7kg. Your baby son's weight is on the 91st percentile line of the infant growth chart putting him in the top 9% of baby boys of his age for weight. He seems to have suddenly gained weight while at the day mother. Is she following your instructions as regards his feeds? There is no need to change formulas or to introduce solids now.Your son may just be a big boy and it is important to know about his present length so as to be able to compare this to his weight. Please let me have this information.
