4months and weights 10kg!

Good day, I was wondering if there’ s anything I should be worried about with my son.
He is now 4 months old and weights 10kg, his currently on NAN, and drinks 150ml every 3 hours! At birth he weighed 4.1kg, he’ s very big for his age and I am worried that there might be a problem! Children his age shouldn’ t weigh that much! Can you please advise me in this matter!

Thank you in advance!

The average weight for a baby boy of 4 months is 7kg. At birth your son's weight was well above the average and he has continued to follow this pattern of being well above the average weight for his age. His milk intake is correct for his weight so there is nothing that you need to do about this. He appears to be a really big and healthy boy who will continue on this path.

Hi Bigmamma-my LG weighed 4.2kg at birth and at the last paed appt in April she weighed 13.4kg at 8 months. She is big built and i also get the q often about what she eats, why she is so big, etc.Just let it slide and remember that your instict as a mother is your best guide. If you feel comfortable that baby is OK in every way then there is nothing you should be worried about.Rgds
