4 mnth old vomits when ever fed formula

Good day Doctor,

I am breastfeeding my baby girl and as need to return to work soon I wanted to put her on a formula during the day as I won' t be able to express enough at work to give her breastmilk with every feed. About 2 weeks ago I gave her 60ml of S26 and about 30min later she started vommiting. She did' t just throw up once, the vommiting got so bad that we eventually rush to hospital as she just kept throwing up, to a point where it was just stomach acid coming up. we the doctor on call that night told us that we should just try another brand of formula in a week. Well I did and excatly the same thing happened. SHe was born with slight re-flux but was never put through any tests to confirm that this was indeed the case. I still use cow' s milk products in my diet so if it was an allergie surely she would get sick from my breast milk too, or am I wrong? Could she be lactose intolerent? What do you think, where to from here?

Your baby is almost certainly allergic to cow's milk so you will need to change the formula. A low allergy formula such as NAN HA would be the first step. If she vomits the NAN HA formula you will need to use a soya formula such a Isomil1.
