My 9 months old baby boy is getting sick almost every month. He has started coughing on monday and a bit of a runny nose. His chest is making a grrr sound and he is coughing alot especialy in the night.

I have taken him to the doctor on tuesday but he is still coughing and the grrrr sound does not sound better. The Dr did not gave him any injection, just some few bottles of medicines.

Please advice.

I am certainly pleased that the doctor did not give your baby an injection as that is not the way to treat bronchiolitis.Bronchiolitis is a viral infection of the airways of the lungs in babies. It can recur several times but 4 times is very unusual.Do you have a family history of asthma? This may be the first signs that your baby is developing asthma,if you do have a family history of this condition. If it is bronchiolitis and not asthma the illness usually clears up by itself after about a week to 10 days. Keep his nose clear by using Salex nose drops twice a day.
