Q.

4 and a half year old with sore neck and head

I was admitted to hospital due to exteme headaches as well as muscle spasms in my neck and shoulders on Wednesday.
My little boy started complaining about a sore neck yesterday morning and this morning he also had a headache. He shows me precisely where his neck is sore - the muscles at the back going into the head.
He new I was ill and had to go to hospital, not of the headaches and muscle spasms, so it can''t be a copy thing.
He has had runny nose and sometimes a cough on and off for the past month.
What can this be? Do I take him to the doc AGAIN? It would be a weekly thing now :-)

You really do need to have your son seen by a doctor as his symptoms are possibly those of meningitis. Please take him to be seen at an emergency unit tonight.
