Q.

3yr old with Persistent cough

My 3yr old has a persistent dry and sometimes phlegmy cough with tight chest each time she gets a cold/flu. Same meds prescribed each time at doc.. antibiotics, cough and nose meds, but the tight chest and dry/phelgmy cough returns with each cold. A nebuliser for home use has been recommended, but no real diagnosis for these same symptoms. Advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your child's cough and the description you give here strongly suggests that your daughter has asthma. She should be seen by a paediatrician with experience in paediatric allergy or paediatric pulmonology.
