3year old - ear problems

Hi Doc,

Dont know if i should be getting worried about, but my son is very sensitive to noise, i mean anything loud, like loud ads on tv or airplane passing by he closes his ears, i once asked his pedt and he checked it when he was 2 and he said his ears looks fine, but it looks like every single day its just getting worse, i am starting to get worried. please help...what could be the problem

This is very common. Your child has over-senstive hearing. This is known by the long name of 'hyperacusis' It is more common in migraine sufferes but there are other conditions as well that may be associated with hypercusis such as autism.If you are in any way concerned about your son he should be assessed by an audiologist first.
